Product Description
Sodium Formate finds application in fabric dyeing & printing processes with ability to serve as buffering agent for increasing pH of mineral acids. It is known to have chemical formula HCOONa with molecular weight of 68.007 g/mol and density of 1.92 g/cm3. This compound can be industrially produced by absorption of carbon monoxide under pressure in solid form of NaOH at about 130 degrees Celsius. It appears as white colored granules with solubility in water and insolubility in ether. Sodium Formate has melting point of around 253 degrees Celsius and decomposes on boiling.
