Aluminum Nitrate Nonahydrate finds application in leather tanning, as corrosion inhibitor, for petroleum refining, and as antiperspirant. It is a strong oxidizing agent having chemical formula Al(NO3)3 with molar mass of 375.134 g/mol and density of 1.72 g/cm3. This compound is also known to serve as nitrating agent and has odorless nature with low melting & boiling points of 73.9 & 150 degrees Celsius respectively. It can be produced by reaction of nitric acid with aluminum (III) chloride. Aluminum Nitrate Nonahydrate appears as white colored crystalline solid with hygroscopic property and can donate 9 & accept 18 hydrogen bonds during a chemical reaction.
